Hope you all had a wonderful New Year and 2011 brings you all you desire and more. With the New Year, Helen and I have decided to embark upon new fitness programmes (gulp!)

Helen is running the Women’s Ignis Asset Management 10k in Glasgow on Sunday 8th May. This is her first foray into running since our little bundle of destructive joy arrived in 2008. Her training is going very well and she hopes to beat her previous time (I’m not allowed to say!). All is on track to smash it so far. Watch this space….

David has recovered from his Land’s End to John O’ Groats cyclethon and is now focussed on his first sprint triathlon of the year, the East Fife Triathlon on Sunday 10th April. This will be the first of 3 he will participate in this year. At least the 20k cycle section should prove less of a hurdle this year (compared to the 130k he was doing daily last year!).

The walking/running programme that was devised for Helen has proved very popular amongst our patients, with more than a few asking for it and enjoying it. If you want a copy, just drop us an email.

Thanks in advance for all the kind wishes.

We are delighted to announce that, thanks to the generosity of patients, passer’s by and friends, we managed to acheive our target total for the cycle ride. Richard and I managed to ride into John O’ Groats in a blaze of glory (in the rain!) on 19 September.

The facts of the cycle are:

  1. Total distance covered = 1002.5 miles
  2. Total falls from bike = 3 (all David – those b!*%$dy clip-on pedals!)
  3. Total money raised on the road = £550
  4. Total money raise = £2700!!!!!!!

Thanks to all. Both Richard and I are humbled dy the support we received. It made all the difference when cycling in the rain (most days). Work can now start on the sensory room for Alyssa. We shall keep you updated on it’s progress.
